Meet Sarah

Sarah Petrie was not a “good sleeper” when she was a child. She stayed up all hours of the night, woke her mother constantly, and never knew how to relax and fall back to sleep on her own. She was irrefutably the cause of serious sleep deprivation in her household. Today, instead of being a cause of misery, Sarah can become your salvation, as she helps babies everywhere get the rest they (and their parents) need.

How has an only child with no children of her own transformed into one of the nation’s leading experts on infant and toddler behavior?

Sarah Petrie knows children. It’s as simple as that.

She has more than fifteen years of in-home childcare experience and has spent the past ten years developing her approach to solving sleep issues. Sarah’s theories and methodology are strongly influenced by renowned Hungarian childcare experts Magda Gerber and Emmi Pickler (R.I.E.)

Sarah is unlike anyone else in the field: she focuses on your child’s daytime behaviors and organizes his or her food, play, and sleep rhythms, resulting in a child who is able to not only put themselves to sleep, but indicate to you when they're ready.

She also empowers parents, rather than simply solving their problems or providing quick fixes without practical training. This will help you, the parent, to actually understand why you're doing things, thereby providing you with tools for years to come.

Sarah teaches group classes and maintains a private practice helping parents approach prenatal care, breastfeeding/bottlefeeding choices and issues, infant development and sibling rivalry. She is a contributor to City Baby L.A. and the author of a forthcoming book.
